CAN'T STOP THIS FEELING EP

Gadi Mizrahi is one half of the much-feted Wolf + Lamb duo, whose music and parties are so much a part of the dance music renaissance that seems to be happening in NYC. Here we have two tracks that showcase the deep house sound that powers the Wolf + Lamb family, both harking back to the past to make music for the future. Sure to be big - but is it just the hype? Can't Stop This Feeling is a percussion-led deep houser that sounds like it could have been made back in the day, which was probably the idea. Drums pulsing away in the background plus the odd ghostly vocal equals a decent record, but it's good, not great - more of a filler than a killer, if you will. The first remix of the title track by Lee Curtiss, Gadi's Wolf +Lamb labelmate, gives the track a lot more focus - it's basically a less off-beat take on things that's sure to be the club success. The second remix, by Sideshow (aka Fink from Ninja Tune) is more of a darker dub affair. This is more something you skank to, rather than dance, but it's still a very atmospheric little number. In fact, it renders the original almost forgotten with this murky, jazzy incarnation. Much more interesting than we expected, on the whole. And finally, Who's Gonna Love Me Tonight is more of a nod to old school house, with its diva-eque vocal and pumping bass-line. It's just the kind of thing that New York was famous for in the 90s, in fact it sounds like a Kings Street record that's been lost in the mists of time (or maybe that slipped down the back of the sofa). As an homage to that sound, this is really pretty good. But overall this EP has a case of 'could do better' that's not clearing up any time soon. Track-list:
