Hailing from the UK and Italy, Audiofly's Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito have been making music since 2002, resulting in an impressive releases on top notch imprints such as Low Pressings, Deleted Records and Saw Recordings. Their latest creative output is Undulation 2, a mix compilation bringing together the finest in minimal completed with some of their own productions under the monikers of Audiofly X and Rekleiner. As this duo is rapidly heading towards a fixed place among today's biggest international EDM artists, 365Mag prepared a list of questions for those eager to know the very details of these talented guys.

1. First off, what are you working on right now, after finishing the album, a tour perhaps?
We're just heads down in the studio at the moment, preparing stuff for next year. Some follow-up releases on the labels who supported us this year, and more from our other collaboration aliases. We're also DJ'ing like crazy at the moment... but not a real tour....just gigging all over the place. We're also gonna tackle our 1st album and Luca's releasing his first in a series of sample CD's of rare tree frogs mating.

2. What are your thoughts on the mix? Did it take a long time to compile?
Well we were lucky enough to have some spare time to ourselves in a little villa in Ibiza, this summer. So we just approached it a really relaxed way....mixing, compiling, swimming, sunbathing...it's the only way to do it!
We got quite a bit of it done by the time we got back to London. The rest just slipped into place after that.

3. You're also producing under various other aliases/collabs, such as Rekleiner, could you tell us a bit more about that?
Rekleiner is another moniker we go under when we're working with our good mate Stuart Geddes.

It's really nice working with other people as it tends to reflect differently in the music. Stuart for example really brings the sound down to a deeper level. It's a more German, House sound... and is really loved in that scene.

Then there's Sleeper Thief, which we do with Miss Jools. It's a much more minimal affair, and again appeals more to the underground scene. We also work with Scarlett Etienne on another thing called Loose Lips and Satoshi on a new project called Opus Ink. We really enjoy doing all the collabs as it gives us a chance to go outside of our sound.

4. How would you describe your style of live mixing? Is the album mixed in similar fashion?
Our DJ style is a kind of fusion of rhythms, percussion and melody. But we're really flexible in the delivery. Depending on the DJ before us, we either take it deep and build, or Slam it from the start then go deep. But we always maintain a certain feel in the set. There are moments of serious rhythmic mayhem.... interesting and weird dropouts, and epic melodic moments. The compilation took the form of one possible set we might play...starting deep and bassy....working through a oriented section then moving into the melody part.

5.The album features two tracks related to (Rekleiner)/ by Audiofly, where these produced with the album in mind?
No they were actually tracks that were signed to other labels. The Rekleiner track Realtime came out on Oliver Leib's Maschine records, and the Sleeper Thief track Freefall was out on 64 Recordings earlier in the year. They just seemed to fit into what was happening in the mix at the time.

6.How did your Audiofly outfit came into existence?
We met years ago through a mutual friend. Then soon after Luca offered to DJ for me at a party I was holding. He played some great music that night, and so when he suggested that we might attempt to work together on a project at sometime in the future, I said: absolutely!. A couple of months later, Luca found a remix that we could work on.....it was a really easy and flowing experience. We needed a name for the remix, and Luca. in a divine moment of inspiration said "Audiofly!" And the name stuck.

7. Who are your major musical inspirations?
Wow, what a question... there are so many it's hard to know where to start. Non-dance would be Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd, Beethoven, Coldplay, Ella Fitzgerald, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis,...the list goes on and on.

8. Is there a specific division of labour when in the studio? Who does what?
Well, Anthony does all the engineering behind the computer as you can only have one person pushing buttons in the studio. We both sit in front of the computer while producing and Anthony is very good at understanding what I want at a particular time during the production process. We have learnt to work this way now and it seems to work really well. I also take care of the promotional side of things and I try to generate awareness about us and make sure we both stay on top of things.

9. What tools do you generally use to produce your music?
We are almost completely computer based. We use a G5 dual processor, a set of Alesis monitors and some really good filtering and effects plug ins. Also we have a piece of outboard gear called virus T1 and some soft synths such as the Minimoog, Albino 2, Octopus and so on...it's a very simple set up really but we try to get the most out of it....

10. What about interests other than music?
We love travelling which is really convenient as we doing that all the time through our gigs, although that doesn't always mean we have the chance to really see the place properly...Also, we absolutely love food and through our travels we have been lucky enough to try some amazing foods around the world...and also some weird food too....

11. Are there any plans for an artist album?
Definitely. the plan is to go to Mexico for a month or so next year, and set up a mini-studio in a nice cabana by the beach in Tulum and totally absorb the atmosphere there. We're gonna try to create something that reflects what we've been doing so far musically and also experiment with a few tempos and different tree frog samples (ha ha)! we will see what happens anyway, as its very important for us for it to be a very organic experience.

12. Anything else we should mention to our readers?
I hope you're enjoying the compilation and the music we have been producing so far. Also if you happen to be at one of our gig somewhere in the world just come and say hello....thanks for reading!
